As the largest marketplace for the trade in flower bulbs, tubers and perennials, CNB wants to take responsibility in the digitalization of the chain.

IT solutions must respond increasingly faster to changing market demands. The IT architecture behind the customer portal could not meet this and had to be revised. Therefore, at the end of 2017, we asked Paul Schalkwijk, as an independent IT architect with extensive experience in the horticultural sector, to analyze the IT architecture.

Paul made a proposal for a new architecture that makes maximum use of existing components. The report that Paul delivered after five days contained clear findings and recommendations. In the follow-up process, Paul played an important role in the renewal of the IT environment of our customer portal.

In mid-2017, we came into contact with Paul for the development of a project portal that should be accessible to our customers.

To have mandatory documents from panel construction easily available at the customer's location, Paul drew up a blueprint for this. Since we already had much of the documentation locally available in project folders via Syntess Atrium, it was a must for us to have to invest little extra energy in this.

Paul came up with a practical solution that allows us to quickly upload the desired documents to a secure cloud environment. As we and customers worked more with this, there were also regular requests for changes. Paul was often quickly able to convert these into a new release. Because Paul could translate the question from us well, the end product was very valuable for the customers. Since technical developments continue to evolve, we still have regular contact to improve the portal.
